All Electricity consumers protection Forum in total support of Mass protest declare against hunger in the land and government policy mismatch especially as it affects power sector.

Members of the above group whose main advocacy is to protect the interest of the electricity consumers declared support for the upcoming protests on hunger and starvation in the land which has eroded the purchasing power of the downtrodden and will support in full with members present at the protest ground beginning from 26th February,2024.

The group with other human rights activists and group will on Monday begin a three days protest to bring government attention to the suffering of the masses especially consumers of electricity over unwholesome attitude and practices of power sector stakeholders especially the discos who have turn many Nigerians to debtors due to many way of billing them for what they did not use.

It’s no longer news and rocket science that the recent policies of the government on subsidy removal on petroleum has brought untold hardship to Nigerians while the government still contemplating in removing subsidy on tariff instead of prevail I on the stakeholders to play by the rules by providing meters to all consumers as to measure what they actually supply to them and also pay for what they sue.

The unwholesome practice of the discos has made many bisues be in darkness because they were taken pay for humongous outstanding balance which does not reflect their actual balance couple with the hardship the recent policy brought on them ,they can’t afford another increase in tariff even next year as slated in the Nerc latest release and directive.

In view of this , all members of electricity consumers protection Forum are you join the protest as declare whereever they are as the slogan of the group says, together we can make them serve us better when we let them do the needful.
